April’s First Friday Club saw 11 trade media editors hear from Schnider Electric, MTC, The University of Birmingham and Manchester Metropolitan University with a focus on robotics, automation and smart machines. Schneider Electric discussed the role of digital twins and robotics in revolutionising automation for sustainability. The MTC explored the latest on the West Midlands RAS Cluster and shared views on how to supercharge UK Manufacturing through robotics. The University of Birmingham discussed key research results from the Smart Cobotics Centre, looking at human-robot collaboration by showcasing real-world industrial applications. The Manchester Metropolitan University discussed the Robotics Living Lab (RoLL) and how collaborative robotic technologies create more sustainable production in fashion manufacturing facilities.
